So Here’s How It’s Going To Work:
Signing up:
• There is no entry fee, but you must sign up in advance to be eligible
(This can be done by calling (858) 309-5050 or coming into the store).
Materials:
• Come in between 10am – 2pm on July 31st when two surprise bead aisles and our entire findings room will be open in the store to buy your materials. Only these may be used for the contest. There will be a discount of 50% on your materials.
• Please bring your own tools & beading boards/mats.
Start Your Beading!
• 3pm sharp on July 31st: Let the beading BEGIN! Contestants will have three hours in the store to complete all projects.
• You will be able to get up twice to buy any extra materials you need.
• When the clock hits 6pm, tools down!
• From 6pm to 7pm enjoy free wine, cheese and other snacks while judges deliberate.
• WINNERS will be announced at 7:00pm!
Terms and Conditions:
• Only one entry per contestant. OPEN TO EVERYONE.
• Entries made or partially-made before or after the allotted in-store assembly period will not be accepted.
• Only materials purchased during the allotted shopping period may be used in the entry piece.
• Entries will be judged by the South Sun management team based on:
Originality of design
Complexity of design
Use of color
Quality of execution
• Winners will be announced at 7:00pm on July 31st and the winning items will be displayed in store.

Contest Update: Organized Beads
Thursday, March 25th, 2010One very meticulously organized person, Antoinette Moriarty, just sent us a photo of her beading space. She actually converted an entire room in her house into a beading room! Can you top that?
She says, “a candle and stereo are a must while I bead,” as seen in the photo. She also says that her friends tease her about being so organized, and rightfully so, according to this image.

Did you have to build an extra room for all your beads?

Tell us all about it! We’re looking for the most wild, crazy, messy beaders, and the most meticulously organized beaders out there. Send some photos and a description of your bead storage (portable or not), and you could win a new deluxe bead traveling case! See details below:

Q: How long will this contest go?
A: Your photos can be submitted until April 9, 2010, when we will start deciding the winners.
Q: How can I win?
A: You can win by having the most crazy messy workspace, the most meticulously organized workspace, or by having the most creative workspace. We will pick one winner from each category. Send a photo and description of your beading workspace to blog@southsunbeads.com
Q: What can I win?
A: Each winner will get a Bead Smith Bead Traveler, which is a really cool carrying case with several organization trays inside. Even if you already have one, we hope you play anyway!
Q: How will the winners be decided?
A: Our staff will judge our favorites and decide. We will post our favorites as they are emailed to us, and the ones that generate the most interest will be looked upon favorably.
Q: Can I enter the contest more than once?
A: Do you have more than one workspace?
Q: Will everyone make fun of me for being so disorganized?
A: Yeah, probably, but just remember, they’re all laughing “with” you.
